Statement from National Association of State Workforce Agencies (NASWA) Executive Director Scott B. Sanders on being appointed to the Commerce Department’s American Workforce Policy Advisory Board:

“I am honored and humbled for the opportunity to represent our nation’s workforce agencies on the Department of Commerce’s American Workforce Policy Advisory Board as a part of my role as NASWA Executive Director,” said NASWA Executive Director Scott B. Sanders. “This advisory board will help develop a strategy to ensure the American workforce system meets employers’ needs for a qualified workforce and gives workers access to affordable, relevant, and innovative education and job training. In today’s economic climate of tight labor markets, this is crucial to continued economic growth and I look forward to participating in this vital discussion.”

The 25 member American Workforce Policy Advisory Board, established under Executive Order 13845, will work directly with the National Council for the American Worker to develop and implement a strategy to revamp the American workforce to better meet the challenges of the 21st century.
