Deploying Your Veterans Staff for Maximum Impact

Serving Veterans is often seen as the role of the Jobs for Veterans State Grant (JVSG) personnel, yet the data tells us between 70 and 80 percent of the Veterans accessing American Job Centers are not served by the Disabled
Veteran Outreach Program (DVOP) staff. Instead, they receive assistance from Wagner-Peyser and other partner staff. USDOL VETS is considering additional populations who would be eligible for DVOP services, but in the meantime, states are figuring out other ways to serve Veterans, Transitioning Service Members and Military Spouses. Come to this session to learn how four different states have approached this challenge, as well as information about new no-cost training from the National Veterans Training Institute available to all staff
who work with Veterans.
