Under the administrative direction of the Unemployment Insurance (UI) Branch Deputy Director, the Unemployment Insurance Northern Operations Division (UINOD) Chief plans, organizes, and directs the effective, efficient, and consistent delivery of UI services throughout California. Specifically, the UINOD Chief is responsible and accountable for services related to claim filing, benefit payments, adjudications, adjustments, appeals, and overpayments for the nine UI Centers located in the northern region of the state. In this position, the incumbent participates in the planning, development, implementation, and direction of policies and procedures affecting the UI Program and field office operations, particularly as they involve oversight of workload production and budgetary efficiency.
The Division Chief is a member of the UI Branch Executive Team, working in close partnership with the UI Branch Deputy Director, other Division Chiefs and statewide leadership throughout the Employment Development Department (EDD). The incumbent plans, organizes, directs, and evaluates all activities in the UINOD to promote optimum standards of effective leadership and delivery of UI services to Californians in need.
