NY Research Foundation for SUNY
The Staff Associate will work with the Principal Investigator and Director to develop and manage a complex program to assemble and track up to 100,000 comfort bags per year for victims/survivors of violence across New York State. Bags will be assembled by volunteers at SUNY campus events across the State of New York as well as at major athletic, fashion, arts and cultural events. Bags will be distributed to hospitals, rape crisis programs and domestic violence shelters to meet organizational needs, and usage of bags will be tracked in a complex system to enable reporting to the federal government. Concurrently, the Director, with the Assistance of the Staff Associate and SUNY System and Campus professionals, will develop print and digital awareness campaigns to educate New Yorkers (students and non-students) about available resources, including those offered by the State University of New York, the Office of Victim Services, and other allied organizations.
