Concurrent Workshop Session: What’s Happening In the VETS/JVSG/VA VR&E Space?

Independence D-E

Description

What’s Happening In the VETS/JVSG/VA VR&E Space?

As VR&E staff share caseloads across the nation, this has had an impact on how VR&E participants are referred to DVOPs for employment services. Hear about the initiatives taking place to ensure common practices are used among the VR&E and DVOP staff for effective communication. These practices include an updated Memorandum of Agreement and related Technical Assistance Guide, a new Standardized Referral Form, Monthly Progress Report, and Labor Market Information form. We will discuss the approximate 5-month testing period used at various sites across the US to pilot and fine-tune these documents and the outcomes of that testing period. Lastly, hear about the cross-training that was conducted in 2022 for VR&E and DVOP staff to better understand each other’s roles and responsibilities and our coordination with the National Veterans’ Training Institute to ensure the training is available for all interested individuals to view.
