ALERT: Notice of Hotel Reservation Fraud
We were made aware of unsolicited emails offering hotel reservations for the 2027 Winter Policy Forum, including a message from Expo Capital Holdings advertising “exclusive” hotel rates (see example below). These messages are not authorized by NASWA, and the booking links are not part of our official hotel reservation process.
Third-party companies - sometimes called “housing pirates” or “hotel poachers” - may use an event’s name and hotel information to make their offers appear official.
To reserve a room in NASWA’s official hotel block, use only the reservation link provided from NASWA event communications after you register for the event.
If you receive a suspicious hotel offer, avoid clicking links or providing personal or payment information. If you have already booked through an unsolicited message, contact the hotel directly using independently verified contact information to confirm your reservation.
