NASWA Secures Grant to Advance Real-Time Labor Market Information through the NLx Research Hub
WASHINGTON – The National Association of State Workforce Agencies (NASWA) has been awarded new funding from the Gates Foundation to support the “Integrating Real-Time Labor Market Information into Public Goods” initiative. This grant will continue to establish the National Labor Exchange (NLx) Research Hub as the go-to source for data and insights into the job market and the nature of work in the U.S.
The NLx Research Hub is a service of the NLx — a public-private partnership that powers the nation’s trusted labor exchange network. Through the NLx Research Hub, workforce development professionals, economists, government agencies, academic researchers, employers and other organizations that rely on labor market information gain access to high-quality, transparent, real-time and historical jobs data.
“We are grateful for this continued support from the Gates Foundation,” NASWA President and CEO Scott B. Sanders said. “Reliable labor market information is essential for building effective workforce strategies and gaining a better understanding of the job market and the nature of work. With this new investment, stakeholders will have even greater access to jobs data to help improve connections between jobseekers, employers and policymakers nationwide.”
With this investment, NASWA will:
- Expand the integration of real-time labor market information throughout the workforce and education ecosystem and across public and private sectors.
- Increase the capacity and impact of the NLx Research Hub and its community of practice, enabling stakeholders to respond to the evolving nature of work and the growing adoption of artificial intelligence.
- Develop new analytic offerings and user interfaces, including dashboards, application programming interfaces (APIs), and open-source tools to empower users with timely, reliable and accessible labor market data leveraging advanced and open-source technologies and methodologies.
- Explore new communication channels, collaboration models, and partnerships to welcome new users, trial new use cases and sustain viability.
