Unemployment Insurance Interstate Benefits Award of Excellence Presented to Oregon's Charles Spivey

WASHINGTON – The National Association of State Workforce Agencies (NASWA) presented Charles Spivey with the UI Interstate Benefits Award of Excellence at its 2022 Unemployment Insurance (UI) Interstate Benefits and Federal Programs Training in Orlando, Florida, on Thursday, May 12. Spivey serves as the Interstate and Federal Programs Coordinator for the Oregon Employment Department.

A member of the UI Interstate Benefits Subcommittee, Spivey represents NASWA’s Region 10 as its Regional Representative and is also Co-Chair of the Technology Workgroup. His wealth of knowledge surrounding the federal claims process is a valuable asset to NASWA, Region 10 and the State of Oregon.

"Charles’ remarkable talent and knowledge have led to significant contributions to the UI Interstate Benefits Subcommittee and programs on which it collaborates," NASWA President & CEO Scott B. Sanders said. “It is members like Charles who contribute the expertise to make NASWA the respected national voice on workforce issues.”

Unemployment Insurance Interstate Benefits Award of Merit for Distinguished National Service Presented to Annette Gordils

WASHINGTON – At the 2022 Unemployment Insurance (UI) Interstate Benefits and Federal Programs Training (UI IB Training) in Orlando, Florida, the National Association of State Workforce Agencies (NASWA) announced Annette Gordils as the recipient of the UI Interstate Benefits Award of Merit for Distinguished National Service on Thursday, May 12. Gordils serves as Interstate Program Coordinator for the Illinois Department of Employment Security.

Gordils was recognized for her contributions to improving interstate and federal programs nationally. She has been an integral part of NASWA’s UI Interstate Benefits Subcommittee, serving as both a Regional Representative and Alternate for Region 5 and as a member of the Subcommittee’s Technology Workgroup. She assisted in the development and facilitation of workshops at the UI IB Training, is a strong advocate of Interstate Reciprocal Overpayment Recovery Arrangement (IRORA) and has successfully completed projects benefiting the states in the areas of federal programs.
