Convening Leaders to Move Workforce Systems Forward

Workforce ITSC Steering Committee Meeting Highlights

Last month, the Workforce ITSC Steering Committee convened federal partners and state workforce and IT leaders to advance workforce system transformation. Co-chaired by Tiffany Smith (USDOL) and Anna Hui (MO), the meeting focused on aligning strategy, sharing state-led solutions, and identifying opportunities to accelerate system improvements.

A key theme was the growing role of artificial intelligence (AI) in workforce systems. Federal partners highlighted new AI literacy resources and training initiatives to help states build foundational knowledge and integrate AI responsibly into operations. Workforce ITSC staff also demonstrated commonly used AI tools and workflows to showcase practical applications.

By providing tools, resources, and a collaborative forum, Workforce ITSC helps states turn strategy into action. The Steering Committee’s work continues to support a more connected, efficient, and responsive workforce system that is better equipped to serve individuals, employers, and communities.
