Employment & Training and Unemployment Insurance Committees Joint Virtual Meeting on RESEA

NASWA's Employment & Training (E&T) and Unemployment Insurance (UI) Committees held a joint virtual meeting on December 11 to discuss Reemployment Services and Eligibility Assessment (RESEA).

Hosts UI Chair Wendy Castle (FL) and E&T Vice-Chair Kelly Folks (CO) kicked off the call. Baden Almonor, Director of Career Services, New Jersey Department of Labor & Workforce Development presented on their RESEA operations, followed by a presentation from Susan Standen, Compliance Manager, Workforce Development Administration, Division of Employment and Rehabilitation Services, Arizona Department of Economic Security, on their virtual RESEA Program. Finally, Victoria Wheat, Research Associate, Research, Monitoring, & Evaluation, Abt Global, led a presentation on RESEA Evaluation Technical Assistance (EvalTA) Resources. The meeting concluded with a Q&A session.

The call had more than 160 attendees, and the E&T and UI committees are exploring the possibility of follow-up sessions to allow for further discussion of RESEA programs and best practices.
