NASWA in Action: Connecting with Industry Leaders Across the Country
NASWA staff have been actively sharing their expertise at conferences across the country in recent months. We appreciate our members and partners for their collaboration as we work together to strengthen and support the workforce system.
- Lori Adams, Senior Policy Advisor, participated in the Elizabeth Dole Annual Convening, the Blue Star Families' Advancing Military Spouse Employment meeting and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's Military Spouse Symposium in Washington, D.C.
- Amy Hiltunen, Director, Workforce IT Support Center, attended 1EdTech’s Learning Impact Conference in San Francisco, CA. She participated in a panel presentation on Connecting Policy, Systems, and Skills: Why Interoperability Matters Now, highlighting the importance of aligning technology and policy to support workforce outcomes.
- Ben Mays, Policy Director, attended the American Society on Aging’s conference in Atlanta, GA. He contributed to a session on the direct care workforce, including NASWA’s collaboration with the Direct Care Workforce Strategies Center.
- Katy Pace, Business Analyst, Integrity Data Hub and Jim Van Erden, Senior Advisor, attended the UWC Strategy Center’s conference in Salt Lake City, UT. They shared updates on the U.S. Department of Labor-funded UI Integrity Center and its ongoing efforts to support states in combatting unemployment insurance fraud.
- Karla Terroba, Behavioral Advisor, Behavioral Insights, attended the Behavioral Science Policy Association’s Conference in Cambridge, MA. She shared insights from a grant project that supported Hawaii’s unemployment insurance program in improving claimant-facing communications.
