NLx Steering Committee Meeting Highlights

The National Labor Exchange (NLx) Steering Committee met in Marco Island, Florida, in December.

Over the course of the two-day session, the group discussed various topics, including AI, skills-based hiring, and talent pipelines. Employers and State Workforce Agency representatives were actively engaged in the conversation – sharing insight and experience on current and upcoming initiatives. Presentations were given by Adrienne Johnson, President and CEO of CareerSource Florida and Amy Hiltunen, NASWA Workforce ITSC Director. Many conversations focused on opportunities to connect with the NLx in the new year.

Additionally, The NLx Steering Committee and NASWA’s Veterans’ Affairs Committee, led by NLx Senior Advisor Lori Adams, held a joint session to explore more opportunities for the NLx to engage with the veteran community. The group also heard from Ross Dickman, CEO of Hire Heroes USA – a non-profit dedicated to helping U.S. military members, veterans and military spouses find new careers.

Look forward to more opportunities to connect with the National Labor Exchange in 2025. For any inquiries, feel free to reach out to the team at nlx@naswa.org.
