SIDES Announcement: Earnings Verification Re-Write and Benefit Charges Enhancement
To improve overall functionality and performance, the State Information Data Exchange System (SIDES) has announced plans for its Earnings Verification (EV) rewrite project. This will better align the EV exchange with the recent updates implemented in the Separation Information (SI) exchange.
The Benefit Charges (BC) enhancement will introduce additional functionality for states related to the transmission of protests, appeals, and questions associated with BC notices.
This release will require a “hard” cutover. Effective July 16, 2026, all participants must transition to the new version, as the current version will no longer be supported after that date. The cutover plan and schedule will be shared during the SIDES Operations Committee meeting on June 9.
The State Information Data Exchange System (SIDES) is offered by NASWA, in partnership with the U.S. Department of Labor, to support and enhance workforce development. SIDES is designed specifically to streamline the processing of unemployment insurance (UI) claims.
