E&T Committee Hosts Virtual State Roundtable Session on Delivering Workforce Services to Asylum Seekers and Refugees



NASWA’s Employment & Training Committee convened a virtual state roundtable session covering the delivery of workforce services to asylum seekers and refugees on November 6 with 35 members from 16 states in attendance.

Alice Sweeney and Beth Goguen of the MassHire Department of Career Services, along with Chris White and Dana Politis of the New York State Department of Labor highlighted their states' ongoing initiatives aimed at connecting refugees and asylum seekers with career services and supports. A state roundtable session also took place where members shared innovative strategies and approaches in this area.
