2026 SIDES Seminar Brought Together UI Leaders to Advance Program Integrity

The UI State Information Data Exchange System (SIDES) Seminar, in partnership with the U.S. Department of Labor, took place April 14-16, 2026, in Denver, CO, drawing 234 attendees.

The SIDES Seminar provided updates to state workforce representatives, employers, and third-party administrators (TPAs) about unemployment insurance (UI) program initiatives throughout the nation. Participants focused on SIDES growth – what is necessary to increase adoption rates and usage throughout the state workforce agencies and employer community. The event featured 32 breakout sessions covering topics such as artificial intelligence, automation, tax issues, and marketing.

Also recognized were 46 state workforce agencies, 41 employers, TPAs, professional employer organizations (PEOs), and SIDES software providers for their commitment to reducing fraud and advancing UI integrity through effective use of SIDES in claims processing.

A special thank you to all presenters, sponsors, and attendees for making this year’s SIDES Seminar a success! Check out the photo gallery and slide decks online for registered attendees (log in using your registration email and confirmation number).

SIDES is designed specifically to streamline the processing of unemployment insurance (UI) claims. Through six secure and efficient data exchanges, it enhances the speed, accuracy, and security of UI information shared between states, employers, third-party administrators (TPAs), and professional employer organizations (PEOs). SIDES is offered by NASWA in partnership with the U.S. Department of Labor.
