NASWA's E&T and Tech Committees Host Virtual State Roundtable Session on WIOA-Related Fraud



NASWA’s Employment & Training and Technology Committees convened a virtual state roundtable session covering WIOA-related fraud on August 17th with over 130 members from more than 40 states in attendance.

This special convening began with an update from Trevor Mansfield (Deputy Administrator, Policy & Planning) and Tyler Stockton (Chief Deputy Administrator, Policy, Planning & Communications) of Wyoming’s Department of Workforce Services about a recent instance of fraud within the state’s labor exchange system. This update was followed by remarks from Kelly Hart (Administrator, Employer Engagement Administration, Arizona Department of Economic Security) and Rebecca McGinnis (Lead System Administrator, Washington State Employment Security Department) about how their states detect and protect their systems from fraudulent activity. This meeting concluded with a state roundtable session where members shared strategies and best practices for preventing and mitigating WIOA-related fraud.
