ETPL State Roundtable Discussion

More than 100 attendees comprised of members of NASWA’s Employment & Training Committee, Technology Committee, and state ETPL technology and policy staff convened on May 15 for a virtual roundtable discussion of Eligible Training Provider List (ETPL) technology systems and processes.

For the first portion of the meeting, representatives of several states led demos and Q&A sessions regarding their state’s ETPL technology. The first presentation from Nevada was delivered by Janet Solis-Lara (Program Coordinator) and Wesley Reed (Business Process Analyst) of the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation. Following Nevada’s presentation, Michigan gave a demonstration led by Dameon Roberson (Departmental Specialist) and John Byrd (Departmental Analyst) of the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity. Finally, a third demo was given by New Jersey, led by Lesley Hirsch (Assistant Commissioner, Research & Information) of the New Jersey Department of Labor & Workforce Development.

Following these demonstrations, attendees engaged in a substantive and constructive roundtable discussion on ETPL systems, offering a chance to consult with each other on a variety of ETPL topics and issues, including data collection & uses, reporting, connections with case management systems, and other topics.

NASWA's Policy Committees help define policies on issues that are critical to state workforce agencies. These groups are active throughout the year and meet regularly in order to collaborate on key issues across the national workforce system.
