Registered Apprenticeship and Work-Based Learning (RAWBL) Group Meeting
NASWA’s Registered Apprenticeship and Work-Based Learning (RAWBL) Group met on March 5 to discuss apprenticeship programs and recent developments in the apprenticeship space.
Co-Chairs Tonya Neely (Director, Mississippi Office of Apprenticeship) and Cody Waits (Director, Arkansas Division of Workforce Services) led a group of presenters from various states in a discussion of their states' processes transitioning from utilizing the Federal Office Of Apprenticeship (OA States) to their own State Apprenticeship Agency (SAA States), with insights from Josh Laney (Director, Alabama Office of Apprenticeship), Denise Miller (Director, Apprenticeship Colorado), and Dane Sulentic (Director, Iowa Office of Apprenticeship).
Members also heard updates from the National Association of State Apprenticeship Directors given by David Polk (Director, Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, Bureau of Apprenticeship Standards; NASTAD President). The meeting concluded with a roundtable session, giving states an opportunity to ask questions and discuss their programs, initiatives, and updates relating to apprenticeship.
