Supporting States with Workforce Pell Implementation
A Virtual Event Series
NASWA is convening a series of virtual sessions to support states in implementing Workforce Pell, which expands Pell Grant eligibility to short-term workforce training programs. As federal guidance continues to evolve, these sessions are designed to foster collaboration and highlight emerging practices.
Workforce Pell Policy Session Highlights
The Employment and Training (E&T) Committee, in partnership with the Tech Committee, Workforce and Labor Market Information (WLMI) Committee, Workforce IT Support Center (Workforce ITSC), and the Multi-State Data Collaborative, held a virtual meeting to discuss Workforce Pell on May 18, with more than 100 individuals in attendance.
The meeting served to spotlight work North Carolina has been doing to create a policy framework and implement Workforce Pell, with Andrea DeSantis, Amber Thiel, and Nathan Coppley of the North Carolina Department of Commerce joining the call to deliver the presentation. The meeting also featured an interactive polling session to assess state progress on Workforce Pell implementation, as well as a facilitated discussion to allow participating states to discuss their implementation progress.
Upcoming Session: Workforce Community Roundtable - ETPL and Workforce Pell
Workforce ITSC is hosting a virtual roundtable on Tuesday, June 16, from 2–3 p.m. ET to explore how Eligible Training Provider List (ETPL) processes can support implementation of Workforce Pell. This session will help states prepare for expanded Pell Grant eligibility for short-term workforce training programs. Register today.
Additional virtual sessions are being planned. Stay tuned for more information.
