2022 Veterans Conference Recap
The National Association of State Workforce Agencies held its ninth annual Veterans Conference on June 28-30, 2022. It was great to gather in person again for the first time in three years! In addition to four keynote speakers, the event included an employer panel, five other plenary speakers, 18 different workshops and presentation of the Mark Sanders Award for excellence.
CALL FOR PRESENTERS
Planners for the 2023 National Association of State Workforce Agencies (NASWA) Veterans Conference are seeking workshop presenters and panelists from external stakeholders who can provide learning opportunities for conference attendees on a variety of topics relevant to serving our nation’s Veterans, Transitioning Service Members, caregivers, and military spouses, and the employers who hire them.
Conference planners surveyed Veteran Committee members for topics they feel are a priority. Some topics include
- Apprenticeship & Internship
- Entrepreneurship
- Justice-involved Veterans
- Marketing JVSG Services
- Serving Miltary Spouses, Older Veterans, and Veterans with a Disability
Some topics could easily be combined, such as serving different generations (older and younger vets) and legal issues/Veteran courts. Here is a list of suggested topics for consideration, but presenters and panelists are not limited to these subjects.
